DO I NEED A VISA TO RENT A PROPERTY IN LONDON?

Yes. In order to rent a property in London you will be asked to complete the following:

Referencing - can you afford to rent the property?

Right-to-Rent checks - do you have the right to live, work and rent in the UK?

References:

When your offer on a property is agreed in writing between you and the landlord, the letting agent will send you a link to their referencing company. The information you will need to provide is:

In addition to the names of all occupants of all ages at the property:

- Proof of employment, e.g. a letter from your company stating your job title, office address and start date

- Proof of income, e.g. bank statements

- Copies of passports of all occupants at the property, including children (but not pets!)

Right-to-Rent:

Your letting agent will send you a link from the UK Home Office to generate a share code based on the details of your visa. Each person over the age of 18 who will be living at the property needs to generate a share code as proof that they have the right to rent in the UK.
